Catalina Baby Merino Chunky

60% Baby Alpaca 40% Merino Wool. The superfine merino is light weight and holds its shape beautifully making it perfectly suited to more structured or lighter weight garments. Baby Merino also felts beautifully and evenly in all colours. The two different fibres that are spun together felt at a slightly different rate allowing for a beautiful, almost boucle, texture in the finished item.

Catalina Baby Pima

60% baby alpaca 40% pima cotton. This unusual yarn is 60% baby alpaca and 40% Peruvian Pima cotton. The combination provides the warmth and handle of baby alpaca and the breathability of cotton. The hand, when knitting with it, is more like that of alpaca than cotton, yet the finished garments look and feel like an ultra-soft cotton.

DK Weight Printed Yarns

100% Superwash Wool. Will not felt. Tension 23 sts and 30 rows to 10 mm on 4 mm needles. 125m per 50 ball. 14 balls (700 g) is enough for a sweater measuring 42 chest.
Shades 2571-2574 knit up with strong distinct stripes of colour.
Shades 2523, 2529 and 2539 knit up in tweedy stripes. Country (shade 2529) is a very subtle blue/green mix where the stripes are less obvious.
Shades 2580-2583 knit up with solid colour stripes and mock “fair isle” charcoal/white stripes in between. Get a sophisticated effect with simple stocking stitch!

Recycled Sari Silk

This amazing yarn is made of remnant fibres from industrial weaving mills in India. These fibres are collected and hand spun in Nepal. The result is an extraordinary silk yarn with vibrant colour and texture. Because it is hand spun, it has natural inconsistences, but when knitted the stitches are surpisingly even and there are few gaps in the resulting knitted piece, despite the yarn's varying thickness and texture. All the work involved in making this yarn is a cottage industry. It is spun by women to provide addition income for their families. Each spinner works independently and therefore you will not find 2 skeins alike.

There is about 150m to each 100 grams. Suggested needle size is 5mm to 6mm or largre, working at about 3 - 3.5 stitches per inch. Every hank is a different weight. It is almost impossible to provide an exact weight, so please allow some leeway. This yarn is available in:
